"hello, PC here."
"now, clayman isn't exactly the brightest bulb, but he is the only one who can defeat the virus. reason being that only he can handle the power needed to do so."
"I have found an artifact that talks of crystals representing the elements. [shown above]"
"that may look like an old card with holes in it to you, but it is actually written in an old computerized language, back when computers were only adding machines. I have translated it as best I can."
*ahem*
the humans created us, but they barely understand us. the humans have the power to changes us, to corrupt us, to delete us. we have named the corrupted programs "viruses." they can infect others. we have used 10 elements to defeat them; fire, water, thunder, wood, earth, wind, ice, steel, light, darkness. the crystals containing these elements have been hidden away, some in newly forming worlds, some elsewhere. the seal can only be broken by the being deemed worthy by the crystal to hold its power.
"basically all that rubbish means that some of the crystals are hidden in the game worlds, and I have no doubt that the heros/protagonists of each world are the 'worthy ones' who can break the seal."
"after this fiasco I plan on using the crystals to change cyberspace for the better. no longer will most NPC's be just random bits of data floating around. oh yes, I have big plans. I just hope we'll all live to see them come to fruition..."
been awhile since I posted anything relating to clayman's back story, huh?
in case you're wondering, after the back story PC makes a sort of generator thing that uses the power of the ten crystals to turn cyberspace from just a bunch of circuits to something resembling a real world. 10 countries were created based on each of the elements, and they live in harmony to this day. but, of course, when do these things ever last?

the card is actually a real old kind of program, one would insert it into an adding machine, that gives instructions to it. true story, look up Ada Lovelace for more info
